In 2012 I decided to sell my house and downsize. I listed my house with what I thought was the most competent salesperson to sell my house since he seemed to sell everything in my neighborhood. He did sell my house but he was not very good at finding me a place to move to. My house sold quickly and I was forced to rent for a short time in order to find a new place to buy. I hired a friend to help me find a house, but she decided that I had champagne taste and a beer pocketbook and dropped me. I rented a place but was forced to sign an annual lease with difficult termination clauses. I did not like the place I was renting as it was very small and had a view of the parking lot. I started looking for a new place and hired another friend to help me since she was the expert in the neighborhood I was living in (The Vineyards). She had me in contact with a mortgage person who never came through with any of the necessary paperwork to purchase a property. I never received a qualification letter or any idea what to look for or how much I could spend. I went to Open Houses every Sunday, some of which were in my neighborhood and some of which were not. That is when I met Linda Ciabattari from Premiere Plus Realty Co. at her open house in the community of Imperial Golf Estates. I told her that I had visited several open houses and never received a call from anyone even though I signed open house sheets, gave them my name, email and what I was looking for. Linda called me immediately the next day and started looking for something for me. She also set me up with a very nice mortgage person (Denise Masnjak of Marketplace Home Mortgage, LLC). After looking at several homes, we finally found the perfect place for me in the Vineyards which is the community where I wanted to live. My Realtor friend who specializes in Vineyards properties never showed me anything in the Vineyards that fit my requirements. When we were working together, Linda always let me know what I could afford and so I always knew what I could and could not buy. The place we finally found had been on the market for quite some time and was reduced to my price range. We immediately made an offer on the property in June 2014 which was accepted with a closing date of July 31, 2014 which gave me enough time to renovate the home before I had to get out of my rental (lease expired on August 31st.) I have been very happy ever since. Linda and Denise are a great team. The other Realtors and mortgage brokers never called to check and see my status. Linda called me several times after closing to make sure everything was going well. Thank goodness for people like Linda who do what they say they will do.
